My friend Mark is organising a chariot wars DBA day in Auckland next year. Coincidentally I’ve been looking through my uselessly large pile of unpainted lead. Back in 2004 when I painted my Early Bedouin army, I painted enough spare figures for it to serve as an allied command for an Assyrian DBMM army. Life’s too short for DBMM, so I’ve had some extra camelry painted and living in a box for the last 12 years. I’m a pretty slow painter and not too flash, but I took on a commission to combine some of my extra figures, suitably touched-up, with newly painted infantry. I thought I’d do a little step by step guide to the method that I use.
I came across this method in one of the supplements for the Traveller role playing game. If I recall correctly Frank Chadwick said that he painted a regiment of infantry in one night using the method, and the unit won a ‘best painting’ competition the next day.

Those look great, but WP has changed the settings on pictures; I have to go back to the old way of writing posts to allow you to click on an image and see it bigger.
Ergh. I figured out how to fix in in HTML. Fixed the first image. Now I’d love to find out how to do it from the front end because I’m slow at HTML.
I do it by going to WP Admin and editing posts from there with the old editor.
